As a Counterstrike player since version 1.6 (those were the days of my youth…) to CS:GO I’ve seen many gamers play with lots of different gaming mice over the last years. Everyone had his own special mouse he was using, stating it’s the best one for him. I personally started out with a Microsoft Intelli 3.0 and worked my way through many different mice as well. Although every gamer is different and everyone has its own taste the question is: is there actually a best mouse for CS:GO out there? Join me, and we will find out in this article!
How to find the best mouse for CS:GO?
Well, the best mouse for CS:GO has to be a good gaming mouse first and foremost. These following key factors define a great gaming mouse:

Which mouse do actual CS:GO pro gamers use?
Luckily I had the chance to visit GamesCom in Cologne this year, where Ninjas in Pyjamas played Fnatic in the Grand Final of CS:GO. There I was able to check with the player which mouse they actually prefer – and why! I’m even convinced to say that I completely trust these guys in their decision for the best mouse for CS:GO: if you can win GamesCom with a specific mouse model it has to be good! Therefore I want to share my results with you what these guys actually play – and you can bring it down to two specific models that these esports professionals consider the best mouse for CS:GO!
The surprising thing is: the best CS:GO players seem to prefer SteelSeries equipment for their performances. Besides the SteelSeries Kinzu and the SteelSeries Xai, the SteelSeries Rival is the most common gaming mouse for CS:GO gamers. Players like Friberg and Fifflaren of Ninjas in Pyjamas prefer the Rival as their weapon of choice. This is not surprising, as the Rival is an impressive piece of gaming equipment: especially its sensor (Pixart PMW 3310) is extremely good with zero hardware acceleration and an adjustable dpi of 50 to 6.500. Its mouse switches have been developed specifically for gaming needs providing a very long lifespan with the best reaction time. The mouse shape is just perfect for right-handed gamers and the anti-sweat coating helps you nail these AWP shots even after hours of gaming. Besides the excellent mouse software that lets you adjust nearly everything about the SteelSeries Rival, it has some additional nice-to-have features like adjustable lighting and custom name plates. All this combined makes the SteelSeries Rival not only the best mouse for CS:GO, but also one of the best gaming mice on the market!

The SteelSeries Sensei is not only a great overall mouse and an awesome mouse for League of Legends, but also for CS:GO! AWP master Fnatic JW (also called “JWP”) uses the Sensei to land these perfect shots that made him famous. This extreme precision can be achieved by the 11.400dpi sensor that performs incredibly well when sniping. Especially for low-sense situations (like sniping) the software of the Sensei is perfect: you can adjust everything about this mouse – like the mouse acceleration and the lift-off distance. The Sensei’s eight mouse buttons offer additional flexibility and are very durable as well. Another nice addition: because of its symmetric shape it can be used by left-handed gamers as well. Compared to the Rival, the Sensei is better for gamers that have smaller hands. If you’re out on the hunt for the perfect AWP shot, the SteelSeries Sensei is your best mouse for CS:GO!
